Photography at the Eccles Art Center

 

Photography of the artwork in the Main, Second floor and Carriage House Galleries is discouraged as this artwork is the original creation of the artists. 

 

The Eccles Community Art Center’s permanent collection works may be photographed or copied if approval is gained through art center staff.

 

Portrait or Wedding Photography

 

Definition: a posed portrait of an individual or group of individuals by a professional photographer/videographer or amateur acting in the role of a professional.

 

Outside Space: Photographers and subjects are asked to respect the grounds, plantings, sculptures and other visitors.  Reservations or fees are not required.

 

Inside the Center:  Photography shall be limited to the spaces available to the public in the historic home during regular business hours. (Regular business hours: Weekdays 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 3).  A rental fee of $25 shall be charged (photographers are limited to 2 hours).  Art work and signage may not be moved or covered. 

 

We recommend that you call a member of the art center staff at 801-392-6935 to schedule a date and time.  The center is not available if it is in use for other purposes such as school tours, private events and meetings.  Photographers and subjects must conclude their session, and out of the building at least 15 minutes prior to closing.

 

Use of props, backdrops, additional lighting (such as spots) and reflectors should be kept to a minimum.  Please ask to use art center furniture, piano, and then please be respectful of the usage.

 

We highly recommend that your leave small children at home.  You are responsible for any damage children incur. 

 

The center and its staff assume no liability for the loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.
