The Eccles Community Art Center's Main Gallery, 2580 Jefferson avenue, Ogden will open a juried exhibition of artwork from the 43rd Annual Statewide Competition. The exhibit will open  August 4, and continue through  August 26, 2016.  A reception for artists, and the public will be held August 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. in association with Ogden's First Friday Art Stroll. Awards will be posted at the reception. ( Awards may be reviewed at 2017 Awards & Artists)

 

The 43rd Annual Statewide, a juried competition, is comprised of recent works by resident Utah artists in all media except photography. Awards presented will include a monetary first, second, thirds and 3 honorable mentions with a purchase award given by the Eccles Community Art Center.

 

Later in August this exhibit will provide the inspiration for designers to create floral interpretations for the art center's Fourth Annual Art in Bloom Competition.  Art In Bloom will be on exhibit August 25 through 26, 2017. An auction and reception is planned for August 24th from 5 to 7 p.m.A $10 donation is requested for this fund raising event.

 

In association with the event members of the Utah Professional Florist Association will offer a complimentary hands-on workshop: From the Bucket to the Vase on Saturday, August 26th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Space is limited, pre-registration is requested and may be accomplished by calling a member of the art center staff at 801-392-6935. A donation of $5 is suggested for this event.

 

The Eccles Community Art Center's regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The center is closed Sundays and major holidays. For information, please call 801-392-6935, or on-line:www.ogden4arts.org.
