Eccles Community Art Center & Newgate Mall’s Chalk Art Festival-
CALL FOR ENTRY
The Eccles Community Art Center and the Newgate Mall’s Chalk Art Festival is open to youth ages 12 to 21 years from community youth organizations, public, independent, charter and home schools. Registered youths and teams will be able to create chalk art drawings or murals along the Newgate Mall sidewalk and inside the mall on standing chalk boards. The Newgate Mall is located at 3651 Wall Ave. Ogden, UT 84405. The Eccles Community Art Center will provide the pastel chalk for use in the creation of the work. Collaborative as well as single projects will be encouraged. Artwork must be appropriate for public viewing. No words or symbols intended as advertising or with gang relation may appear within the street art image. All artwork must be the sole and original work of the student or class. Adult participation must be limited to advice only. If student is under 18years of age, a Parent or Guardian must sign for them. Work is expected to be of a temporary nature. Entrants may begin their work at 1pm on Friday, October 7th, 2016. For work to be reviewed to receive an award, it must be completed or nearing completion by 2:30 pm on Saturday October 8th, 2016. Funding for this event is through Weber County RAMP and Sorensen Legacy Foundation.
Chalk art participants must pre-register with a drawn sketch of their project. Please send by mail to The Eccles Community Art Center 2580 Jefferson Ave. Ogden, UT 84401, drop-off in person or via e-mail to email@example.com by 5pm on October 1st, 2016.
Awards will be presented in a variety of categories. Award sponsors may be reviewed online: www.ogden4arts.org. The awards ceremony will be at 3pm on Saturday October 8th, 2016.
