STATEWIDE COMPETITION FOR WORKS IN BLACK & WHITE
CALL FOR ENTRY

ELIGIBILITY:
The Eccles Community Art Center's Black & White Competition is open to all artists who live in the state of Utah. Original work in all media, including paintings, prints, monoprints, drawings, graphics, photographs, pottery, sculptures and textiles are eligible. ONLY WORK IN BLACK, WHITE AND/OR SHADES OF GRAY WILL BE ACCEPTED. Work must have been completed within the past two years and not have been previously exhibited in a juried exhibit sponsored by the Eccles Community Art Center.
Artists are limited to a total of two entries. Works consisting of multiple parts may be entered as a single work only if each of the parts cannot exist as a complete work by itself. Multiple parts of a work may not be priced separately.
Entries must be ready for exhibition display. TWO DIMENSIONAL WORK MUST BE FRAMED AND HAVE A WIRE OR OTHER ACCEPTABLE HANGING DEVICE ALREADY ATTACHED. CLIP FRAMES LARGER THAN 21" X 21" WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
The jurors or the Art Center may also refuse works which are not suitable for exhibit in the Gallery because of size or liability. Works accepted for the exhibition may not be withdrawn.

Saturday, January 23, 2010 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

LIABILITY:
Every reasonable precaution will be taken to protect work submitted. All work submitted will be insured through February 6, 2010 while at the Art Center. Work accepted for exhibit will be insured through March 31, 2010. WORK NOT ACCEPTED FOR EXHIBIT WILL NOT BE INSURED AFTER FEBRUARY 6th, WORK ACCEPTED FOR EXHIBIT WILL NOT BE INSURED AFTER MARCH 31st. Work left at the Art Center after those dates will be at artist's own risk and storage charges may accrue. The Eccles Community Art Center does not accept responsibility for works damaged due to incorrect or poor framing.
SALES:
A price or insurance value must be indicated for all items entered. Sales will be encouraged and the Eccles Community Art Center will retain a 35% commission on sales. Any item sold will remain on display until the end of the exhibit March 27, 2010. WORK NOT FOR SALE MUST BE MARKED 'nfs' AND A VALUE FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES GIVEN.
ENTRY FEES & FORMS:
$7.00 per entry
$5.00 per entry for members of the Art Center.
Entry fees are used for prize money and publicity and are not
refundable.
Entries must be clearly identified by the artist with title, medium and price/insurance value. Tags will be provided at the time of entry. Self
addressed jury results cards are to be filled out at registration and will be mailed as notification of jury results.
PICK-UPS:
Work not accepted must be picked up on or before February 6, 2010
between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Work accepted for exhibit and not sold must be picked up
March 27 - 31, 2010 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

OPENING RECEPTION AND EXHIBIT:
A reception for artists, friends and the community will be held Friday, February 5th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Art Center. Awards will be
announced at the reception.
The exhibit will be on display February 5 through March 27, 2010.
